Hi all,
I'm using itunes 9 and have the newest of the ipod shuffles.
My question is how do you add and delete songs on it. I know when I first plugged it in itunes automatically downloaded my library to it but how do I manage it with adding updated songs to it or delete songs I no longer want on my ipod.
Thanks,
Troy
Have you ever heard of a little program called rebuild? You stick it on your shuffle and it will allow you to cut and paste whatever music you want into your shuffle, in the order you place it in. It's just like copying the folders from aa hard drive to a memory stick. Then you just launch Rebuild.exe and it will automatically synch the music to your ipod, thereby bypassing using itunes altogether. I think you still have to have the program installed, but it works beautifully, and totally helps to avoid the ID3 tags that Itunes uses to sort your music by artist and genre. Unfortunately I can't help you with Itunes because I simply don't use it.
If you want to use iTunes, which you should since you have a new shuffle and you need to use iTunes to make sure the voiceover tags are done, you have a couple options.
You can either create a playlist, by going to file, new playlist, then send the songs you want in it to it by adding them to your library, then in the music item of the iTunes tree view, right click on the songs and select send to, then the name of your playlist. Once you've got that set up, go back to the tree view, connect your shuffle, arrow down to devices and hit right arrow. That'll open it. Tab a couple times, and you should see a summary tab. Control tab to I believe it's a music tab. On that page, you should see radio buttons that say sync all, sync only the following playlists, and manually manage the songs on my iPod. Select to only sync specified playlists, then select the one you just made. That way you can just change the songs on that playlist and they'll automatically sync.
Or you can just arrow to your iPod, open it, find music, and delete the songs you don't want on. Be aware that this method will resync the songs you deleted every time, that is if you tell it to sync your whole library, it will redo that every time so you'll have to keep deleting over and over again.
The tabs and options might be a bit different, I can't verify as I haven't got my iPhone's cable with me to look, but it's not hard to find.
Shuffle has voice over? We're talking about the wee little square metal one right? No screen and all that?
Yes, the new one do.
The new ones, the ones that from what I gather are circular, and come with the earbuds with the control on the right one, yes. The older ones no.
